Nvidia Announces AI Infrastructure Deal with SK Telecom in South Korea
According to reports, the company revealed on Monday that it will work with SK Telecom to develop a gigawatt-scale AI cloud project. The initiative is designed to significantly expand South Korea’s AI computing capacity.
SK Telecom is expected to deploy Nvidia’s DSX platform as part of the project, with the first phase of the AI “factory” scheduled to begin operations in 2027, Nvidia said in an official statement.
The infrastructure will support a range of AI services, including sovereign, physical, and agentic applications aimed at enterprises and industrial sectors across South Korea.
Nvidia added that the system will be built on its full-stack reference architecture, integrating accelerated computing, software systems, and partner technologies to improve deployment speed and energy efficiency.
Commenting on the partnership, Nvidia founder and CEO Jensen Huang said: “Telecom networks are becoming national AI infrastructure,” adding that the collaboration will enable SK Telecom to scale Korea’s AI cloud capabilities.
